Eric is a lecturer at Buckingham New University (Crowd Safety Management) and
member of the UK Crowd Managers Association. After a 33-year police career with firearms, helicopter and covert deployments, Eric retired in 2012 after delivering the largest national event in the history of policing, the London 2012 Olympic Torch Relay over 70 days and 8,000 miles. He holds FdA and BA hons in Crowd Safety Management and now delivers training in crowd and events safety in the UK, US and Canada.

He presents at the American Events Safety Alliance and was key note speaker at the Canadian ESA Safety Summit in April 2017. He was based at New Scotland Yard as a Public Order Planner, managing Notting Hill Carnival, New Years Eve and multiple major policing operations. He began as a lecturer at the EPC in 2006 and maintains a strategic role.
